Arcadia Woods Subdivision
This is a new Subdivision being built in Spring Lake Mi. This job is located on 60 acres right on the outskirts of Spring Lake. Many challenges arose once construction began. Ground water was one obstacle we encountered more often than not. With the water table as high as it was, it made times of utility installation a bit tricky. A tight time frame was also a big challenge we faced. With a deadline to have phase on paved and completed by the end of 2016 we stayed busy all summer and fall to make sure we would make the deadline. Here are some facts about this job!


-16 Acres of tree clearing
- Demolition and disposal of 20 different buildings
- Roughly 50,000 cubic yards of sand and topsoil moved from stockpiles and borrow pits on site.
- Nearly 6,500 lineal feet of storm sewer varying in size from 12” to 36”, both plastic and concrete.
- 8,500 lineal feet of 8” sanitary sewer, half of which was at depths of 12’ to 15’.
- Just over one mile of new roadway being built
- Approximately 6,000 feet of 8” ductile iron watermain.
- Multiple retaining walls ranging from 4’ walls to 12’ walls.
- Pond excavation of approximately 5,000 cubic yards of sand.
